    " Siberian initiative " - is a non-governmental organization whose goal is to prevent the spread and reduce the harm caused by HIV/AIDS through information, training and counseling projects.

    Who are" Siberian initiative "

    • l a team of qualified experts;
    • l more than 200 volunteers;
    • l more than 2000 people have been trained through our programs;
    • l a network of departments in the towns of the Altay region;
    • l unique informational-methodological materials devoted to health protection and human rights;
    • l participants and organizers of international and Russian conferences, symposiums, seminars and trainings for non-governmental and state organizations;
    • l the representatives for Peer Education Program International in the Altai region;
    • l participants in programs in the development of the noncommercial sector in Siberia.

    INFORMATION SERVICES

    We have collected more than 3.000 books, magazines, brochures, booklets, methodological manuals in our library.

    All materials are divided into the following sections:

    • drug addictions;
    • human rights;
    • psychology;
    • non-governmental sector.

    We publish bulletins, information-methodological materials and other printed products.

    TRAINING SERVICES

    Our team of qualified trainers will help to you to lead seminars - trainings for different audiences using up-to-date methods on the following topics:

    • culture of health;
    • basic information about HIV/AIDS and sexually transmitted infections and their prevention;
    • prevention of drug use including alcoholism and smoking;
    • planning and organization of harm reduction programs for injecting drug users;
    • planning and organization of peer-education programs;
    • planning and realization of programs for volunteers human rights and health in connection with HIV/AIDS;
    • psychological support for people living with HIV/AIDS, their relatives and friends;
    • theory and practice of telephone counseling;
    • planning of activities for non-governmental organizations.

    CONSULTING SERVICES

    Our professional consultants and specially trained and educated volunteers will give information and help to people living with HIV-infection/AIDS, to their friends and to their relatives.
    Our consultations are always confidential and anonymous. We can help to overcome stress, to find real ways solving problems and to make decisions.

    • about the possible consequences of testing for HIV;
    • about social services;
    • about the rights of people living with HIV/ AIDS;
    • how to talk about HIV/AIDS ;
    • about harmful behavior for a person living with HIV/AIDS;
    • how to prolong their life and to minimize the risk of transmission to other people;
    • about up-to-date methods of treatment and their availability;
